Today, I'm at my loose weight ideal weight -- and am in the best shape of my life. But it wasn't always that way. Ten years ago, I weighed 220 pounds -- I was 80 pounds overweight! Like most overweight people, I tried every diet I could get my hands on, bought every fat-burning pill that was available, and every loose weight exercise gadget or video they sold on TV. Does this sound familiar? I managed to knock off a few pounds now and then -- but loose weight the weight would always come back with a vengeance (usually, more weight than I lost). I tried starving myself, and I gained even more weight. My energy level plummeted, and I remember thinking, 'What good is losing weight if I feel exhausted and cranky all the time?' What really puzzled me is that sometimes, a diet would work wonders on someone else -- but that same diet would have little or no effect on me.
