Study Finds Aerobic Exercise Can Lead to Subcutaneous Fat Loss in Periphery (lipoatrophy) In the journal AIDS weight lifting exercises Volume 16, Number 6 (current issue), researchers (Barbara Smith, Michael Para, Judith Neiberg, et al) report the effects of aerobic exercise on parameters related to fatigue, dyspnea (shortness of breath), weight, body mass index (BMI), and body weight lifting exercises composition. The study results reported what we have suspected and I think seen from weight lifting exercises other study--fat loss in the extremities (lipoatrophy) can result from aerobic exercise. Type of exercise: The initial 20 minutes of each session were spent walking or jogging. Subjects could then use the stationary bike, stair stepper or cross-country machine. The exercise was to be carried out 3 days each week for a minimum of 30 minutes at a workload that produced a heart rate corresponding to 60%-80% of subjects VO-2 max achieved on the graded exercise test at baseline.
