So instead I just developed rules. This is a good carb, that is a bad one, and then I would eat mostly good carbs and the bad carbs very sparingly. Basically the good carbs take a long time to breakdown in the body and the bad carbs breakdown very quickly. So bad carbs are: pasta, white bread, anything potatoes (including fries, and chips), white rice, regular bagels, and anything with lots of sugar like soda, candy, anything with lots of high fructose corn syrup, basically what most of us think of as carbs.
