Eventually the body will adapt and over weight become more efficient over weight in performing any physical activity, including weight training. The argument against doing cardio could just as easily apply to weight training. Without a progressive increase in overload, the body will adapt to weight training and progress will stop. So, a well-designed exercise program takes this adaptation into account and incorporates regular changes to avoid plateaus. This applies over weight to both weight training and cardio. While Mr. Aceto's claims about physical adaptation are true, they are somewhat misleading in the context of promoting weight training over aerobic exercise. Was this review helpful to you?
