Pretty much stephen cragg everyone I know calls me Scoops, I've had the nickname for stephen cragg probably about 10 years now. Many never knew why, or how, I got the nickname but they assume there's some great story to go with it. After all, most nicknames have good, or at least funny, stories. On occasion they ask me to explain the nickname (especially since pretty much none of my friends have a nickname at all). A few of my friends were sitting around the stephen cragg house one evening, drinking and eating. One of my friends (not me) was eating Fritos Scoops. He turned to me and said, for no apparent reason, "We're going to call you Scoops." It stuck. I fought it for about a week, but it stuck. That beats the snack that gave me my college nickname. Same basic circumstances, but I will not repeat it under any prodding.
